Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic Imaging at Nova Healthcare

At Nova Healthcare, we provide access to some of the most sophisticated diagnostic imaging technology, including CT, PET, and MRI scanners, allowing us to accurately diagnose and carefully monitor a wide range of conditions. The specific technology used will depend on your symptoms and condition.

Imaging is used to create detailed pictures of the structures and metabolic activity inside your body. Often, it is combined with pathology, urinalysis, and other diagnostic techniques to provide a full understanding of your condition.

Our Imaging Techniques

CT (Computed Tomography)
A non-invasive test that combines X-rays with computer software to produce cross-sectional images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue, and blood vessels. CT scans are often used to diagnose and monitor cancer.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
Uses a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses, and a computer to produce highly detailed images of organs, soft tissue, bones, and internal structures. MRI does not use ionising radiation and is used to monitor a variety of conditions.

Nuclear Medicine Scans
These scans use radiotracers that are injected, swallowed, or inhaled. Radiotracers accumulate in the area being examined and emit energy detected by a gamma camera or PET scanner, producing images that reveal both structure and function of tissues and organs.

PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography / Computed Tomography)
PET imaging measures body functions such as blood flow, oxygen uptake, and sugar metabolism. When combined with a CT scan, PET/CT provides precise anatomical and metabolic images, helping locate abnormal activity accurately.

Other Imaging Services

  • Ultrasound – Uses sound waves to examine organs and soft tissues.

  • X-Ray – Provides quick imaging of bones and chest structures.
