Dr Paul Hatfield read medicine at the University of Birmingham and completed his training in the West Midlands, New Zealand and Dorset.

He joined Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust in 2000 as a Specialist Registrar and gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2003. He then went on to complete a PhD in cancer immunotherapy at the Clinical Research Facility in St. James’s Hospital, Leeds.

Dr Hatfield was appointed Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2007. As a part of this role he supports both Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale NHS Trusts in the management of upper and lower gastrointestinal cancer. He also specialises in neuro-oncology and was the lead clinician for the Neurosciences Multi-Disciplinary Team in Leeds for over 10 years. He is the lead clinician for the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery Service.

Dr Hatfield has published a range of scientific papers, on-line learning modules and book chapters in the fields of gastrointestinal and neuro-oncology and has been principal investigator and co-investigator for several clinical trials.

Dr Hatfield is a senior examiner for the Royal College of Radiologists.
