Dr Peter Dickinson graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2004 and undertook his specialist Clinical Oncology Training in Nottingham, followed by a radiotherapy research fellowship at the Christie Hospital in Manchester. He was appointed consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust in 2013.
Dr Dickinson specialises in the treatment of lung cancer, soft tissue sarcoma and metastatic cancer. He is a key member of the Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy team at Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust and is lead for the oligometastatic lung programme, which focuses upon the treatment of early-stage metastasis.
He has an active interest in clinical research and has been the Principal or Co-Investigator for numerous national and international clinical trials investigating the use of new radiotherapy techniques as well as systemic therapy. He has recently been appointed to the Trial Management Group for a national study investigating the use of Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy in sarcoma. Dr Dickinson has also published a number of papers on radiotherapy, chemotherapy and basic science.
